Lucinda L. de Barrera, 85, of Port Arthur passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. Lucinda was born August 20, 1931, in Honduras to the late Francisco Landaverde and Susana Vidal. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Lucinda was a business woman and a great cook. She enjoyed every minute with her family and loved traveling and shopping.

Lucinda L. de Barrera, 85, of Port Arthur passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. Lucinda was born August 20, 1931, in Honduras to the late Francisco Landaverde and Susana Vidal. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Lucinda was a business woman and a great cook. She enjoyed every minute with her family and loved traveling and shopping.

Lucinda was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Barrera; sons, Wilfredo Barrera and Santos Thomas Barrera; and 5 brothers. She is survived by her children, Francisco Barrera and wife Blanca de Barrera; Andres Barrera and wife Cristo Reyna de Barrera; Ancelma Barrera; Paula Barrera; Maximino Barrera and wife Lucinda de Barrera; Miguel Barrera; Antonia Cole and husband Kelly; Florentino Barrera and wife Estella Norma de Barrera; and Dennis Bonilla. Ms. Lucinda also leaves behind sisters, Blanca Landaverde and Celia Landaverde; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives to cherish her memories.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Port Arthur. Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
